Description: Massive oil-on-canvas interior family portrait, signed Rembrandt, and attributed to a follower, perhaps pupil, of the famous Dutch painter. The painting, of which the original is titled Familieportret, is dated to 1665, just four years before Rembrandt’s death at the age of 63. Rembrandt is considered a Dutch Golden Age master, and amongst the greatest visual artists in history. He influenced some of most talented and well-known artists to have lived, including Vincent van Gogh, Edgar Degas, and his pupil Carel Fabritius, amongst countless others.

Provenance:From the estate of U.S Marine and 1952 Helsinki Olympian Jaime Annexy Fajardo of Puerto Rico and his wife Pan-American games tennis star Maria Annexy. The Annexy’s both inherited many fine antiques and were themselves avid collectors in the Continental taste, settling in an expensive landmark home overlooking Spring Bayou in Tarpon Spring, FL, the site of the famous, annual Greek Orthodox Epiphany Cross-Diving festival.
