George Dashwood (1617-1682), son of Samuel Dashwood of Rowden (1574-1638), and Elizabeth Sweeting (1576-1638), was an Alderman of London and Commissioner of Revenue. His son, Sir Robert Dashwood (1662-1734) was the 1st Baron Dashwood of Kirtlington Park and MP for Banbury (1689, 1690, 1695) and Oxfordshire (1699).
