The great Italian brand was created in 1932 by Gio Ponti. The artistic director of Luigi Fonta & C. , then a leading company in the processing of crystal and glass, founded it as an artistic division of the company. But soon after, Fontana Arte became an independent factory. Initially the emphasis was on stained glass, before Gio Ponti recognized the possibilities of glass in the production of furniture and accessories.
Even after many decades, Fontana Arte stands for innovative Italian craftsmanship characterized by its timeless elegance. The manufacture's creations often become collector's items.
