Ford - Fastback - HIPO 302 v8 & manual 5 speed - 1965

Ford Mustang 1965 Fastback 2 door with 64400 miles on the odometer. In very good condition with a HIPO 302 V8 and 5-speed manual transmission. Only driven in the summer months in winter the car is stored indoors, so a very nice car. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This California Mustang is a true and correct V8 fastback in very solid all original rust free condition. Its equipped with the correct style Shelby GT350 details and shelby stripes. The engine is a very strong and great sounding, Tuned 302 with aluminum high flow heads and aprox 325+ HP that's hooked up to a manual Tremec 5 speed overdrive trans. The car appears to have been an original manual shift car. As you well know a manual transmission car gives much more performance and HP to the rear wheels ( up to 25% more) so this engine and transmission combination gives the car a real race feel and its pretty fast. Besides that a 5 speed gives the huge benefit of having the engine rev's at any level you want them to be through the gears, but also to have a 5th gear as an overdrive so you have lower rpm's on the highway. A 5 speed trans is also a very good base for a higher number rear gear set ( 3,73 or up) that would even give more 0-100 kmh speeds. A manual trans in a lightweight car like this, with its HIPO lightweight 302 engine is BIG fun to drive and enjoy. The interior, chrome, glass, paint and details are all in very good condition. All the floors, body, chassis and frame rails are original, which is VERY rare for a 65 mustang, it probably survived all these years as its an original 2 owner black plate car which stayed all of its live in the dry states. We have seldom seen such a solid and original fastback. Everything on this car works and there are no flaws. A great classic with the correct Shelby looks and features. This car can be driven and enjoyed and you will get thumbs up were ever you take it. The car is also equipped with front disc brakes and a real functional California air-co car! . The deluxe pony beige interior looks awesome in combination with the white / gold exterior and gives the car a real sporty, but also the luxe and spacious feel and stays really cool in the summer heat. The performance of the car with its special HIPO 302 engine and manual 5 speed trans is fantastic. BODYWORK & TRIM: Very original and super solid body panels, doors, floors and chassis, the car appears to have never had any body work and its completely rust-free. Its one of the most solid 65/66 fastbacks we have seen in a longtime. Al the trim, glass and chrome are in good condition. The paint is still very nice, has a good shine and gives the car a great patina. The body panels line up very well and this original California fastback has survived the test of times more than average ! ENGINE: Fresh build 302 Performance block with heavy duty main caps ( D8VE A3A) , with high performance aluminum heads and alu 4bbl performance intake and holley 4bbl carb. Electronic MSD ignition and high flow oil and water pump. Ford performance valve covers and air filter and headers with dual exhaust for that mean V8 sound. Very healthy and very power full engine and a perfect combination with the manual 5 speed! DRIVE TRAIN AND SUSPENSION Ford 9 inch rear end with lim. slip diff and 3. 00: 1 street gears. Front and rear stabilizers and performance rear leafs and front coils with new shocks. The car is equipped with a new Borgwarner / Tremec T5 manual 5 speed trans and heavy duty clutch. INTERIOR: The luxe and rare Pony interior with bucket seats and floor shifter, all in very nice and original condition. The headliner, carpets and door panels as well as the dash are all in very nice and clean shape.
