The film star car. Starsky and Hutch is a 1970s American television series. It is a well-known series and features the recognizable Gran Torino! Starsky and Hutch drive around in the series (and later in the film) in a 1974 Ford Torino. The main characters were two police officers from Southern California; the dark-haired David Starsky was a streetwise detective with a huge childish curiosity, and the blond Kenneth 'Hutch' Hutchinson, the more reserved and intellectual one. They were known for tearing around the streets of "Bay City" in Starsky's two-door Ford Torino. This car was red with a white vector stripe along both sides and was nicknamed “The Striped Tomato” by Hutch in the episode “Kill Huggy Bear”. Only 1,000 units were built, less than half remain. The car got its famous 70s colour scheme during the show. It became so well-known and loved that Ford built a limited edition, the "Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino 351 CID". Only 1,000 were built worldwide of this particular edition and only about 400 remain. This car certainly has some history to it! Exceptionally beautiful, fully restored and documented, with birth certificate! An American classic always looks good but even more so when it’s in new condition! The car has been completely body-off restored, all works have been recorded with photos and descriptions as well as the corresponding invoices. A very full folder is included. What makes the car really unique is the fact it still has its birth certificate! It shows how the car left the factory at the time and with what specifications, naturally as the Starsky & Hutch edition! Another car in similar condition (but without birth certificate) sold recently for $109,300. A chance of a lifetime to get your hands on this unique car! The car can be viewed and picked up in Eelde, the Netherlands.
