Bookends DESIGN PIERO FORNASETTI (1913-1988) . Original 1960s era. Pair of metal bookends with silk-screen printing depicting a face with coins. Manufacture mark under the base. Fornasetti was active as a designer, decorator, painter, curator and printer. His works - produced in series but in limited numbers - characterize his eclecticism within Italian design culture. Fornasetti was and is a company known throughout the world but the meeting with Gio Ponti was decisive for the start of the business, which pushed him to develop his intuition: producing objects for everyday use enriched by a decoration that he would bring art into everyone's homes. Fornasetti bookends h 15, width 13, depth approximately 10 cm. Rare and unobtainable collector's item for collectors and lovers of the genre.
