Fossil Gingko Leaf Gingko adiantoides Paleocene Sentinel Butte Formation Morton County, North Dakota, USA 5.16 x 3.88 x 0.85 inches (13.11 x 9.85 x 2.16 cm) The mottled matrix of this fossil specimen is rutty, dark and uneven in contrast to its balloon-like Gingko leaves that reside on the natural palette. Both the relatively large and small fossils display fine striations and the classic ‘winnowing fan' form. The rock housing the two fossils is very interesting in its own right. [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
