Large-sized fountain in Botticino marble consisting of three modules: pedestal, basin and front. This artwork comes from Lake Garda area, Italy. It was used as a drinking trough for horses passing through the villages, or as a square fountain. Period: late 19th century. The basin is obtained from the carving of a single Botticino marble block, a material of high-quality and workmanship, sturdy and durable, with an elegant and refined grain. It is special also for its strong base composed of 4 modules that helps to lift the fountain from the ground, to enhance it and give it importance. The basin is decorated with the finely adorned face of God Neptune in the front. Water escapes from the central part of the front, from the mouth of the fish. Overall, an excellent workmanship lot, suitable for large spaces, exclusive and rare to find. Please note its wonderful patina and the quality of the marble grain.
