Four Chinese papier mache dolls, Late Qing dynasty, comprising: a pair of boys wearing jacket and trousers, each 23cm long, and a female and male figure wearing crowns and 'dragon' robes, the male, 29cm long including crown (4).
Condition Report:
All with extensive surface wear to the papier mache and to the textile. The boys with cracking to heads, losses to finger tips and fraying to clothes.
The couple with extensive loss to the crowns and bending to the metal rods holding the heads; the male with a flake to the tip of his nose and cracking to the neck, as well as loss of one foot and cracking and bending to the fingers of the hands. The lady with an extremely large belt surface chips to the face and edges of the headdress, possibly part of the headdress has been lost, and some possible loss to the costume. Both figures with loose threads and wear to the costumes.
