Four Pre-Columbian Pottery Items - Bowl & 3 Figures

**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Tlatilco, ca. early 1st millennium BCE; West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE; Central America, Honduras/Guatemala, Mayan Territories, Maya, late Classic period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A lovely group of hand-built terracotta items from three distinct Pre-Columbian cultures. First is a small mold-made seated Mayan monkey figure with expressive facial details. Second is a Tlatilco head with ovoid eyes and a large, elaborate pectoral. Last are two Jalisco items, a seated figure with spread legs and a bulbous nose, and a thin, red-rimmed bowl with a minimalist circular motif along the exterior. Size of largest (bowl): 7.625" W (19.4 cm).

Provenance: private Boulder, Colorado, USA collection; ex-private Hambrick collection, Chicago, Illinois, USA

Condition Report: Bowl repaired from several pieces with small losses and adhesive residue along break lines. Tlatilco head is fragment of larger item. All items have age-commensurate surface wear, small chips and nicks along peripheries, fading to details, light discoloration, with light earthen and mineral deposits throughout.
