Four Presidents: Reagan, Ford, Carter, Nixon Beautifully Signed Photo, Rare Large Format
Signed Photograph

Four Presidents. An official White House photograph of the 37th, 38th, 39th, and 40th Presidents of the United States, posed for a portrait prior to traveling to Egypt to attend President Anwar Sadat's funeral. Boldly signed in the lower border below their images, "Ronald Reagan," "Gerald R. Ford," "J Carter," and "Richard Nixon." Satin finish, color photograph measures 11" x 14" and is printed on Kodak paper. Official White House handstamp verso. Moderate creasing throughout, heaviest at upper right corner. A bit of corner bumping. Surface imperfections. Isolated area of light rubbing to the satin finish at upper right. Overall, in near fine condition, beautifully signed, and rare to find in this larger format.

This photograph was taken at the White House on October 8, 1981. Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter had arrived by helicopter and were greeted by President Reagan. Reagan met with his three immediate predecessors for approximately thirty minutes before they left for Andrews Air Force Base to board a plane for the twelve-hour flight to Cairo to attend the funeral of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, who was assassinated two days prior. President Reagan had decided it was too great a risk for him to go, as he had survived an assassination attempt just six months earlier. This was the first time four U.S. Presidents met together in the White House and the first time four U.S. Presidents were photographed together.
