Four painted wood decoy wood pigeons, late 19th/early 20th century

Four painted wood decoy wood pigeons, late 19th/early 20th century, one pierced for suspension from a small iron hook, another mounted to a treen base the larger 36.5cm long

Provenance: Collection of Mike Handford, 'Hillsleigh', Burford, Oxfordshire

All have expected to wear to the paint. with slices off tails and prick holes etc. The one with a hook in the top has much better paintwork so this one may be later in date. The lower one in the catalogue image has had its head glued back on at some point
