Fraktur for Jacob David, in the style of Johann Conrad Gilbert, Berks or Schuylkill County, c. 1819, two parrots flank the inscription, which is further surrounded by floral decoration above and below, (tears and moisture stains, repairs), 8 x 12 in., in a period black-painted reeded frame.
Provenance: An inscription on the reverse reads "Purchased from Henry Kauffman by Corinne Earnest in 1980 at Shupp's Grove."
Note: The repair to the parrot at upper right was reportedly done by modern theorem artist David Ellinger.
