Ancient Near East, the Levant, Canaan, ca. 1550 to 1200 BCE; the Levant, Ugarit, 1550 to 1200 BCE. A fabulous cast-bronze dagger from Canaan and a bronze sword from the Ugarit culture. The dagger has a crescent shaped pommel with a recessed area for inlaying a bone or wood grip over the handle. The blade is petaloid with three raised ribs from the ricasso to the tip.
