Franca Franchi - Lamp, Sculpture, Luminous sculpture - Contemporary

[ translate ]

Lighted sculpture made in 2017 in stainless steel, recycled white multilayer glass and LED bulb. A one of-a-kind piece. Dimensions: 59 x 51 x 38 cm Perfect for every type of furnishing, from classic to contemporary; able to create a charming evocative atmosphere. When on, the (previously stabilized) cracks of the multilayer glass are highlighted and create what the artist himself calls "blades of light". These last break down the glass surface into asymmetric planes giving rise to lighting effect which seem to transform the sculpture material nature. “The light can get and out through the cracks”: this is the artist’s message. The "blows" and the cracks give new light to life itself because they offer a chance of transformation. Franca Franchi (Piacenza 1961) is an Italian artist whose research on light dates back to 2014 and was supported by Gillo Dorfles (1910-2018) , the most important art critic, who devoted to Franca the last pages of the anthological work "The Artists I Met", published by Skira (2015) .
