Rare high-quality large pistol, circa 1840/45. Double-barrelled percussion pistol. The mechanism is functional. The 2 hammers hold well and strike well. Lovely ‘water drop’ walnut butt in good condition. Everything is original. The barrels are in excellent condition except around the cap, the result of an old firing without maintenance afterwards. Double octagonal barrel. Cleaned and ready for firing. Definitely the work of a famous French gunsmith from the 19th century. Pistol that’s over 150 years old, with minor signs of wear and handling but still in an exceptional state of preservation and it works perfectly.
