France - 19th Century - Early to Mid - Cap-Chur Equipment - Dumonthier - Pinfire (Lefaucheux) - Revolver - 7mm Cal

The pinfire revolver created by Dumonthier is a classic of the genre. It is mounted to an open frame, equipped with a side ramrod and it works in single and double action. It could look like any pinfire revolver if its single-block grip with a very clear spur, didn’t bring an original touch to the set. This grip, is characteristic of Dumonthier revolvers and was often cut from burr walnut, with shimmering reflections, on quality weapons. The buttcap ring under the butt locks the grip. It means the butt can be quickly removed and access given to the large leaf spring, the driving force of the percussion mechanism. The loading gate is another original feature by Dumonthier. It moves above the body and opens by tilting backwards. A small metal corner, attached to the gate, moves in the same way. Very nice object. Weight 360 g Very nice Napoleon III box, no key. The ammunition is only for decoration and will not be sold! "
