France - Arquebusier français - pistolet de carosse - arme de défense - Flintlock - travel weapon that was put under the seat, in the carriages - 12 mm
Louis XV period coach pistol in excellent presentation and working condition. The small weapon, has all the characteristics of the carriage arms, used to defend itself in the event of attack (frequent at the time) of bandits of highways: a large very full cannon, with tulip mouth whose shape resumes that of the naval cannons of the time, mounted on a small stick whose shape and size recalls that of Basque weapons (pockets of clothing of the time) . The weapon is very well preserved, with a plate with perfect functioning and very firm springs. This little weapon seems to be waiting for only a load of powder and a bullet (or grapeshot) to "speak" again. One of these little miniature jewels like the craftsmen of the 18th century knew how to make them. a beautiful, healthy, functional and decorative weapon.
