643 - Beautiful box with French Cavalry Officer’s pistol, signed ‘Beraud’. Hallmark of the Manufacture de Saint Etienne (1826-1886) . Barrel with flared sides with ‘gold’ edging. Gridded walnut butt (rod is not the original but from the same period) . Chiselled stars on the cap, trigger guard and rod holder. Calibre 18 mm with round forced bullet. Excellent indexing, two-notched loading, strong percussion, suitable for firing. Weight 695 g. Weapon is numbered 2089, can be paired with weapon no. 644 sold on the site.
