ULTRA RARE! French Revolutionary 1790 Saber officer Cavalry Legère Guard Tournant! A very good kept French revolutionary officers saber with “turnable guard” for the light cavalry. This concept was abandoned within a few years, so only few were made of these, and when they appear (mostly on the continent) they come with noticable defects, or without sheath. This one is in a very good state, and only one minor 20th century replacement screw (clearly visible as required for antiques! See picture) in the guard mechanism had been done. (before i got it) A weapons smith or jeweler smith can easily bring that to normal, i leave that for the specialist. The soft foldable leather sheath is in a very good state! The leather is soft, and taken good care of. The Montmorency blade is in good condition, only with minor spots. No pitting or rot.
