Rare sabre of a hunter on horseback, with rotating guard: Length of the sabre: 89 cm - blade: 76 cm Period Louis XVI - revolution, 1784 to 1798. It was only used in France and for a short period (15 years) . Wooden handle covered in leather with iron filigree. Iron mount, so-called rotating guard, with two branches including one up to date and rotating with locking spring. Curved blade with flat back, sharp counter and hollow panels, without any particular markings. Leather sheath with three fittings, two pitons and two rings, cut iron and decorated with lines. Sabre in good condition, no play in the guard or handle, firm blocking of the guard. Note: the cap at the top of the sheath is missing. See the photos. I will happily answer your questions.
