Lot including a year IX model briquet sword and a leather cartridge case Set with briquet sword and cartridge case found and sold together (cannot be separated for sale; thank you for your understanding.) Briquet sword: Bronze hilt with 28 grooves - complete year XI infantry model briquet sword. Year XI model infantry briquet sword, moulded brass guard with one branch, grip with 28 grooves, curved blade with some signs of corrosion. The number 57 hallmarked on the grip + letter L+ number 8 + round hallmark with letter L topped with a star. Length: Francois Louis LOBSTEIN, inspector from 1804 onward? Empire Restoration period ? Features: Total length: 73. 5 cm Blade length: 59. 5 cm Weight: 1. 1 kg Cartridge case: Wooden interior and leather exterior with multiple signs of handling. 12 cartridge slots in wooden case. 3 brass buckles on the underside, one of which has part of the leather fastener, torn. Will need repair. Untouched, unmodified. Found in as-is condition with the briquet sword. Features: Width: 21 cm Height: 15 cm Thickness: 8. 5 cm at the base.
