Francesco Dalena (1900) - Donna con bambino

Francesco Dalena was born in Putignano di Bari on 2/9/1900.
At a very young age he went to Florence to study painting.
A pupil of Carena and Chini, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and specialized in stained glass.
He collaborates as an artist for the Quentin manufacturing company in Florence, with which he creates many, located in various churches in Italy and abroad (e. g. Egypt, United States) . Among the most important, we can remember those of the Church of San Francesco in Piacenza, the Gallery of a palace in Alexandria, Egypt, the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Assisi, the Chapel of the Fallen in War in Parma, the Church of San Pietro in Putignano, of the Chapel in Philadelphia, of the Chapel in Chiusi, of the Church of San Marcello Pistoiese, of the Tuscan Bank of Florence (Coin Beaters) .
Having left this activity, he dedicated himself to teaching drawing and art history in scientific high schools and continued to paint. But his shy character does not allow him to exhibit his paintings and watercolours, in which he paints landscapes, still lifes and portraits.
