Authentication by the artists. “La Concipiente”, present participle of “concepire”, to be understood as those who conceive. Words have their own value and origin, and “concepire” derives from the Latin con+capere, that is, “to take to oneself” but also “to take with”. Francioni and Mastromarino’s work “La Concipiente” investigates both meanings of the word. Eleonora Francioni and Antonio Mastromarino have been working in Pietrasanta in Tuscany in their art studio for about 20 years. Gigantism is typical in their career. They are the authors of the largest face that portrays Leonardo da Vinci for about 6 metres, recently sold to a private collector. Their social media pages read: “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants”.
