Exclusive and important unique work by Francis Cotes (London, 1726-1770) , hand signed by the artist on the front, upper right corner. In good condition, with various signs of time and aging on the pastel (see the photos, please) . The artwork is surrounded by a splendid wooden frame, dating back to the 19th century and decorated with gold leaf (in good condition) . In those years Cotes was one of the most sought after and fashionable pastel artists, so much so that he was nicknamed the 'Rosalba Carriera of England'. The work is accompanied by the certificate of authenticity of our gallery, with photos, dimensions, age and measurements. It comes from an important private collection and has already ben auctioned by at least one important auction house, including New York, Sotheby's, April 5, 1990, lot 341.
