Francis Sherman Peck Oil on Canvas Dated 1894
This quality period framed oil on Canvas by New York Female landscape artist Frances Sherman Peck (1841-1932) depicts a river with an aquaduct style bridge with wooded banks on either side. It is signed in the lower right corner and dated 1894, and also signed on the back of the canvas. A native of West Palmyra New York, She was awarded a 1892 New York City Medal of Merit. In its original ornate plaster and gessoed frame, it measures 23" tall X 30" across.
