Inscribed RAOUL, LARCHE front-left of base and stamped front-right of base with foundry mark SIOT-DECAUVILLE FONDEUR PARIS
Ormolu gilt bronze lamp with varying brilliance in patina. Designed for the Paris World Fair 1900, sitter is depicted in downward motion, stepping forward with right leg, with both hands raised, cascading veil upward, enclosing two electrified bulbs in a lateral figure eight, and with skirt draping downward with a forward flow. An area of linear abrasion with gilding loss near fold in front drape and a scattered rectangular area near lower folds of reverse; minor pitting in recessed spaces; a few fleabite indentations along outer edges; minor handling wear with losses in patina near centers of mass; accumulated dirt, dust, debris, and residue particularly to the recesses.
