Frank Gehry - Knoll - Armchair - Hat Trick

Inspired by the surprising strength of the apple crates on which he played as a child, Frank Gehry created his completely original collection of curved wood furniture. Ribbon designs transcend style conventions by exploring, as the great modernists did, the essential challenge of deriving form from function. Built with strips of hard white maple veneer, laminated with a thickness of 6-9 with highly adhesive urea-formaldehyde glue. The thermo-set glue provides structural rigidity without the need for metal connectors. The rear part of the chair flexes for greater comfort. The shaped seat is made of maple plywood to ensure rigidity. Slides in transparent plastic with frosted matte finish included. The lower part of each piece is in relief with the Knoll logo and the signature of Frank Gehry. Limited Edition, made in only 1471 pieces. This practically new example has been used only once for the shooting of an advert, it does not show any signs of use or wear, a beautiful 2001 seat in excellent condition.
