Titled "Sunny Afternoon", the work depicts a farmer and his donkey leaving a village on a dirt road in the foreground with a mountainous background beneath a blue sky. The painting is a very early example from Kline's career prior to meeting Willem de Kooning (1904-1997) in 1948.
