The Yacht Timer Regatta Countdown, a Frederique Constant signature, returned to the watch scene in 2019. It was added to the Maison's collections back in 1997 at the instigation of its co-founder Peter Stas, who himself has a passion for sailing and the open sea. A new approach to sailing in watchmaking Frederique Constant's Yacht Timer Regatta Countdown features a technical complication popular with yacht and regatta enthusiasts: the countdown to the start of the regatta. Her classically stylish new look is the epitome of luxurious sport chic, designed for both regattas and relaxed pontoon times. The new Yacht Timer Regatta Countdown is housed in an elegant 42mm polished stainless steel case and features a silver dial that plays with color harmony. Inspired by the most stunning examples of traditional luxury watchmaking, this new dial features a guilloché decoration. This ancient finish gives light a regular pattern in which it can dance, expand and reflect, like waves and swells that present an ever-changing appearance depending on the viewing angle. To complement this elegant symphony of tones, this new version comes with a matching black leather strap that fastens with a folding clasp. Inside the case is the automatic caliber FC-380. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph, has a power reserve of 48 hours and is guaranteed waterproof to 10 ATM (100 meters) . Ingenuity and simplicity The dial is adorned with wide hour and minute hands highlighted by a luminous treatment and complemented by an orange hand that enhances the sporty look. At 12 o'clock it is located exactly in the middle of a luminous double index hour hand. Below the latter are the five openings that form the central complication of the Yacht Timer Regatta Countdown: the countdown. At the top of the dial, each dot represents 1 minute. Pressing the top button starts the first countdown, with all dots gradually turning from white to dark blue. If all 5 dots are dark blue, 5 minutes have passed. The second countdown, the last 5 minutes before the start signal, then begins automatically. This time the 5 points gradually turn orange. When the fifth and final dot has turned orange and the second hand is at 12 o'clock, the regatta is officially underway. In keeping with its positioning, the new Yacht Timer Regatta Countdown costs the same as the two-tone model already in the collection.
