"You Will Go To The Moon" by Mae and Ira Freeman, illustrated by Robert Patterson, published by Beginner Books A Division of Random House, New York, 1959. Stated Book Club Edition. The "Beginner Books. I Can Read It All By Myself" with Cat in the Hat logo was a book club for the early readers founded in 1958 by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel). Points of the first edition, early printing: copyright 1959 without any other printings listed, no isbn, no barcode.

Illustrated hard boards [some wear]; 6.3/4" x 9.1/4"; illustrated endpapers, "Nancy Harris / Grade 2" is pencil written inside cover, the upper edge of the endpaper inside front cover is damaged [looks like a binding error]; "(10)" is written on the top of spine and front endpaper, paper residue from the removed label inside back cover [see photo]; 64 pages including two-page scientific glossary at the end, a little soiling and wear, very good condition.

"You Will Go To The Moon" is a work of children's literature written by Mae and Ira Freeman and illustrated by Robert Patterson, published in 1959, ten years before the first crewed Moon landing. The first edition was reprinted in England in 1962 under the same title. A second edition was published in 1971, with new illustrations reflecting NASA's Project Apollo. This was reprinted in England in 1973 under the title Going to the Moon.

The book is a children's story in the Beginner Books series, written using a restricted vocabulary of simple words for a readership age of six. The illustrations show a lunar mission concept based on the Von Braun and Ley space exploration concepts of 1952 (see Man Will Conquer Space Soon!), featuring winged three-stage rockets ferrying the passengers to a rotating-wheel space station, serving as a transfer station to the spider-like lunar surface shuttle.
