French Antique Bronze Relief Entitled "Les Francais A

DESCRIPTION: Bronze relief plaque depicting three soldiers at the battle of Waterloo next to a dying tree with their effects scattered on the ground beneath them. Two of the soldiers are wounded and one is standing and calling out while holding one of the wounded soldiers. Piece has a black background and is emblazoned with "LES FRANCAIS A WATERLOO 1815" in relief at the bottom. Framed in a gilded frame at the corners of which are ornate floral and foliage motifs; frame is topped with an eagle clutching a wreath.
