French Art Deco black Cubist side table /shelves

Made in France in the late 1930's this sidetable is a perfect example of the cubist design which flourished just before W.W.2.This piece has a distinctive "Jacques Adnet " touch with his streamlined style but elegant style. Jacques Adnet defines himself as an "innovator and classicist, a champion of the tradition leading toward the future." Infatuated with functionalism, he created solidly constructed furniture, very sober and often times completely lacking of all decor.
