"The shape is a medium, the passage by which any communication builds up itself... My sculptures, my forms are as doors in charge of active, beneficial signs, I hope..... To the spectator to be held in these signs or to go farther in the exchange..." [Yves Mohy]

Yves Mohy (1928-2004), French artist specialized on sculpture and ceramics. He studied architecture at the Beaux-Arts School in Paris, then ceramics at the Ecole des Arts & Metiers. His artworks are now highly collectible and available for sale at the international auction houses. When started to create modern artistic porcelain in the 1970, Mohy created several pottery designs for the Virebent Porcelain Company.

The Virebent porcelain atelier is situated in the Lot Valley, in the medieval town of Puy L'Eveque, France. When it was first founded in 1924, the company specialized on the porcelain components for electric light fittings.
