French Eagle & Malachite Ball Mantle Clock

French bronze and malachite clock with a figure of an eagle, having spread wings and oak branch in its talons, on a 6 inch diameter malachite covered bronze sphere mounted on a boulder, green marble base and turned gilt bronze feet. Pierced gilt brass Roman hour numerals mounted on the front of the sphere with gilt arrow hands; round brass 8 day spring driven time only movement signed "S. Marti" has a platform lever escapement. Case is in excellent condition, 2 tone gilt and dark brown patina. Movement not running. Dimensions: 22 in. high x 18.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep. Weight: 54 lbs.
