French Silver Tinderbox/Striker - .800 silver - France - mid 19th century
This is a French hallmarked Silver Tinderbox/striker. These were first used in the Georgian era, this charming item has a beautiful engine turned design, a floral border edge and a shield shaped blank cartouche. There are hallmarks as shown in the photos with the makers mark "GC". The weight is taken including the wick, the wick measures approximately 13. 5 inches.
