French Style Gilt Gesso Shadowbox Frame

An ornate, deep-profile shadowbox frame constructed of molded composite ornamentation over a wooden base with mitered corners. The frame features a gilded finish with a dual-band decorative scheme. The outer molding displays continuous foliate and floral scrolls, while the inner band consists of a repeating pattern of circular floral medallions within a beaded border. The interior of the frame is fitted with a white-finished spacer to create depth, housing a light brown wooden backboard that shows natural grain patterns and several knots. The gilded surface exhibits a dark patina in the recesses and light surface wear. 18x21.5
