Several documents dated 1814 pasted to the back of the relief , amongst them a certificate inscribed :
"Vu par nous Brigadier Comadt la Brigade de gendre royale de la résidence de l'isle jour... aout mil huit cent quatorze /vue par nous maire de surig / Lisle jourdain arrondissement de n...18 août 1814. »

Condition Report:
The finely modeled relief with some very minor hairline fissures to the surface at several places, with one fissure to the back of the neck of Triton. The patina appears to have been retouched at several places , and appears darker in the upper left hand corner of the relief. The back of the terra cotta relief with remains of plaster, and old documents attached. The tinted wooden frame with a few knocks. Overall good condition.
