French sabre

French sabre model 1850 made by Francois Backers Et Delacour, Paris, for the Chilean army as model 1866. Acid-etched blade "military motifs" and inscription "Alejandro S. Fuller". Bronze chiseled cup with distinctive of the Regiment 2° of Line. Blade and cup marked by the maker. Sculpted "condor's head" pommel. Handle in chiselled bronze "leaves of oak and olive tree" and in wood covered in cloth and bronze filigree, with damages in filigree and cloth. Total length 90 cm. Missing scabbard. Weapon that belonged to Alejandro Fuller Jofré, major sergeant of the Chilean army participant of the War of the Pacific between Chile, Peru and Bolivia (1879-1884) with the rank of second lieutenant of the Regiment 2° of Line, current Infantry Regiment N° 2 "Maipo".

Cazoleta en bronce cincelada con distintivo del Regimiento 2° de Línea. Hoja y cazoleta marcadas por el fabricante. Pomo esculturado "cabeza de cóndor". Empuñadura en bronce cincelado "hojas de roble y olivo" y en madera forrada en paño y filigrana de bronce, con averías en filigrana y paño. Largo total 90 cm. Falta vaina. Arma que perteneciera a Alejandro Fuller Jofré, sargento mayor del ejército chileno partícipe de la Guerra del Pacífico entre Chile, Perú y Bolivia (1879-1884) con el grado de subteniente del Regimiento 2° de Línea, actual Regimiento de Infantería N° 2 "Maipo".
