Beautiful Art Deco sculpture by sculptor Fritz Paul Zimmer. Displayed is a Balinese dancer in graceful pose. A work from his German period, 1920. Signed on the base: F. P. Zimmer, Stuttg. 1920. Fritz Paul Zimmer (1895-1975) was born in Germany and died in Atlanta, Georgia USA. He studied at the Stuttgart art academy and at the state school of applied arts in Württemberg and the Munich academy of art. He then studied architecture in Rome, Florence and Ravenna. With his wife Hermine, he emigrated to the US in 1925, where he taught at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1930 to 1934. In 1932, he became an American citizen.
