COPPER TABATIERE IN HONOUR OF THE VICTORIES OF FREDERICK THE GREAT.

Technique: Copper body with painter and relief enamel. Fire-gilt copper mounting.
Description: On a turquoise blue ground, 12 oval, wreathed medallions with the dates of the battles of the Seven Years' War.
Seven Years' War. In the centre is the breast star of the Order of the Black Eagle with a profile portrait of Frederick the Great. Inscription on the inside of the lid: "Long live Frederick / the greatest hero of all, / soon all enemies will be weary / Prussia's eagle will bring us peace".
Measurement: 4x8,5x7cm.
Cracks inside. Mounting attached.
