Fruit server (5) - .800 silver - Spain - First half 20th century

Antique cutlery set, with silver handle and gold-plated steel top. Very well preserved. Unused. Miguel Faci Abad, initiator of a saga of very notable silversmiths and jewellers, had settled in Saragossa at the beginning of the 20th century. In partnership with his brother Pedro (the establishment begins to be known as Faci Hermanos) , they begin works of remarkable beauty and magnitude, such as the Monstrance carriage that is taken out for procession on Corpus Christi day (made between 1915 and 1920) , the chest of the Corporals of Daroca, a lamp in El Pilar (16 kilos of noble metal) , various decorations for the then head of state, Francisco Franco.
