GALLERY PRACTICE STYLE 1898 KRAG BOLT ACTION RIFLE
. Cal. 22 LR. S# 130909. Bbl. 30". Blade front sight. Standard M1901 rear sight. Left side of action has standard 1898 & Springfield Armory markings with small hole above the "D" in Springfield & "CAL/.22 LR" at rear. While rifle has correct markings it falls well below the accepted serial range of known original examples which around the 475k range. Oil quenched & blued finishes. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Left side of stock has crisp undated inspector's cartouche. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: spare bbl. without sights. Bbl. has bright near excellent bore & some scattered finish loss. CONDITION: stock set shows some scratches, handling & storage marks. Metal retains 90% oil quenching & bluing with some fading, light oxidation, edge wear & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bore that is bright for much of its length but shows a few spots of pitting. (01-30305/MJC). ANTIQUE. $1500-2500.
