AUTO RIFLE.Cal. 30-06. S# 4641719. Bbl. 24" Springfield Armory 3-66 dated. Muzzle gauges 1.5 & throat less than 1.0. Scarce "Gap Letter" receiver IHC Garand rifle. Bolt, op-rod, trigger housing, hammer, gas plug & windage adjustment are al l "IHC" marked. Arsenal reparkerized finish. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Underside of wrist has faint circled "P" firing proof. Left side of butt has faint "SA" rebuild cartouche. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows some chipping, dings, scratches handling marks & staining. Front handguard is loose. Metal retains 80% arsenal reparkerized finish with edge wear along gas cyl., a few spots of oxidation & pitting. Safety functions both when the rifle is cocked & not cocked but action otherwise functions properly when hand cycled. Very good plus bright bore. (26-3463/MJC). CURIO. $1000-1500.
