Ayers / Phila". This is one of four images taken of Lincoln by Hesler in Springfield, Illinois on June 3, 1860. Lincoln himself mentions that Hesler's images "gives a very fair representation of my homely face." Some loss and damage to the edge of the mount with a crack across the lower right corner of the image, otherwise a crisp, sharp image in very good condition. In an Oval old painted frame, no glass.
