GEORGE FREDERICK WATTS (1817-1904) STUDIES OF THE MALE NUDE red chalk on paper, unsigned, bears inscription under the mount WATERMARK 1853-4, GIVEN TO ME IN 1938 AS ONE OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE WATTS GALLERY, COMPTON ON THE DEATH OF LADY G F WATTS, L.G.D. (27cm x 37.5cm) Footnote: Note: L.G. Duke became a trustee of the Watts Gallery in 1933, replacing the late Lord Northbourne.
