GEORGE FULTON, ALLEGHANY CO., VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with flat rim, pronounced collar, and two incised shoulder rings. Brushed manganese double fern/tree decoration below dropped feathers and leaves on front. George N. Fulton (1834-1894) Pottery, Arritts, Alleghany Co., VA. Active 1867-1885.
Condition: Minor flake with oblong 2 1/4" L glued repair to edge of base, otherwise undamaged.
Size: 8 7/8" H, 5 3/4" D rim.
