George Wright's works are highly prized both in the UK and USA. One of the foremost equestrian artists of his time, Wright's pictures capture the excitement of the hunt and the calm of the foxhounds at rest.

Wright was born in Leeds, one of seven children, of which five became professional artists. From 1925 Wright was under commission from Ackermanns Gallery in the UK and Grand Central Galleries in New York. He exhibited six times at the Walker Gallery and thirty-three times at the RA.

In very good condition, small patch repair and associated retouching to dogs head at front.
