GERMAIN-ROBIN ?SPECIALLY SELECTED FOR THE WHITE HOUSE? LIMITED BRANDY, BOTTLE NO. 12 OF 36, ESTATE
An exceptionally rare, ultra-limited Germain-Robin brandy, one of only 36 bottles produced, personally retained by Pierre Chambrin and offered directly from his estate. A highly unusual and historically compelling example of Germain-Robin Fine Alambic Brandy, bearing a bespoke label reading: “Specially Selected for The White House — 36 Bottles Only — Bottle No. 12.” This bottle originates from the estate of Pierre Chambrin, the French-born Executive Chef of the White House (1989-1994), who oversaw state dining for multiple U.S. Presidents and was instrumental in bringing the highest traditions of French gastronomy to American political life. Founded in 1982 in Mendocino County, California, Germain-Robin is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of ultra-premium American craft distillation, producing brandies using traditional Cognac-style alembic methods and fine wine grapes. Early bottlings—particularly small-batch or private allocations—are increasingly appreciated for their role in redefining American luxury spirits. This example represents an extremely limited, custom selection, evidently produced for White House use or presentation, with only 36 bottles issued, of which this is individually numbered No. 12. The bottle is further accompanied by a Pierre Chambrin White House business card, reinforcing its direct connection to one of the most influential culinary figures in modern presidential history. Being sold by one of the owners of The Rug Life, Sabrina Chambrin Jureidini, the only Daughter of Pierre Chambrin. This bottle comes with a COA signed by Sabrina, and one of Pierre’s original White House business cards. Pierre Chambrin (1947-2024) is a French-born American chef who served as the White House Executive Chef from 1989 to 1994. Chambrin was born in Paris on September 13, 1947. He received his culinary education at the Ecole des Metiers de l’alimentation, which he attended from 1961 to 1963. He moved to the United States in 1969 and opened a restaurant called Picot's Place in Massachusetts. In 1979 Chambrin took over the Washington, D.C. restaurant Maison Blanche, located near the White House. Chambrin was appointed under the presidency of George H. W. Bush to succeed Hans Raffert. He was succeeded by Walter Scheib. After leaving the White House, Chambrin became the executive chef at the Saint Louis Club in St. Louis, Missouri. The Maitres Cuisiniers de France named him "Chef of the Year" in 2008, and the Academie Culinaire de France bestowed its Lifetime Achievement Award on him in 2013.
