Pair of "Gebirgsjaeger Steigeisen" (crampons), very heavy-duty and hand-forged, each about 12 in. long with 2 in. spikes, complete with woven straps. Marked "5" on underside. SOLD WITH: Wehrmacht-issue ice climbing axe, 37 in. long overall, with wood shaft and leather belt loop. The head of the axe is double-sided with a pick and spade-type cutting edge. The other end bears a metal point so that the axe could be used as a support on icy surfaces. The shaft is embossed with the owner's initials "P.D.W.", the head engraved "60418P". SOLD WITH: Matching pair of brown leather ice climbing boots, bearing identical markings on the soles, 11.75 in. length, some missing metal spokes and laces absent.
